Did you ever dream of flying?

consider the birds of the air - now that is freedom!! Posted by Hello

Only I haven't recently. Flying seems like the life, I must be writing this because it was such a beautiful day, cool, crip and clear.

I am not sure I like my line in this one, but I do like the attempt at watercolor wash. I am learning and so I am enjoying just the little victories. I made a pretty good orange from yellow and red! Ok, alright, so it doesn't take much to give me a lift!

a LITTLE something, a BIT of nothing...

I have been tired lately. I feel pretty good but tired.

Below I have tried to catch up on scanning and posting.
I enjoyed working on collage and like it... But I am not sure
if it really is collage, what is collage? anything your want with paper and glue that gives you a whole picture when you are through? In the collage I tried to hide lots of faces in order to make a puzzle out of it.

Also, I have put up a sketch of my right hand. I have a busy weekend ahead. Maybe not if the rain keeps up.

Speaking of rain, I heard an old song, think it was CCR's, Who will stop the rain?
It reminded me of another song I used to love in the sixth grade, It never rains in California... maybe that was CCR? What songs remind you of sixth grade?

Fun from the Wish Jar Journal

Somewhat on this theme a new book meme is circulating and its rules are these (via ever so humble):
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

Here is what Wish Jar Journal had...
"Clearing clutter is about letting go and trusting the process of life to bring you what you need when you need it." -Karen Kingston (Clearing Clutter with Feng Shui)

Here is mine...
“And then, if you eat the mushrooms, you see stars.”
All I Really Need to Know I learned in Kindergarten
Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things
By Robert Fulghum

Hmmmmm, that's funny, I see stars all the time :)
thanks for visiting! -patty

p.s. Do you have one? I'd love to see it!

light a candle instead of cursing darkness Posted by Hello

Working on this week

Lately I've thinking over things I'd like to work on. Ok, there are so many things that I am going to try to take it weekly. This week I am going to try and remember my manners, give up cuss (sp?) words, drink only 1 can of soda a day. Last but not least I am going to try and be more positive. For the most part I am positive but I can also be low, loud and negative. I am going to try the "Christophers" philosophy of light one candle versus cursing the darkness.

So with this post I am going to show you a drawing/doodle that my mother and I did back in January 2005. I was at her house and she has this Hurricane Lamp - I think that is what they are called - we both looked at it and this is what we came up with. I think it is so fun to see the similarities and differences in what we've done. I love drawing with my mom and with my daughter now I wish I had something to show you that my sister Nini has done - she is really good. There is a sort of joke in my family right now as my sister and I have both lost a recent scketch book each. Sore subject because neither of us have been able to retrieve these cherished lost items. As for me, I am thinking of somehow attaching my portable sketchbook to my purse, like the bank does with pens so that people don't walk off with those pens.

I'd like to thank all who visit here and what are you going to work on this week?

Alone - The Big Cheese

ALONE II Posted by Hello

The cheese stands alone, the reason, some cheeses STINK!

I love brie, vermont white cheddar and gouda. So I have two questions for you.
Do you like cheese and what kinds do you like? Also does anyone know what kinds of wine go with the cheese I've mentioned.

Toy for EDM and Travel for I-Fri
Yesterday was so beautiful here in Maryland it would have been a great day to be on the Bay. Travel by sailboat is truly relaxing. I haven't been on the bay for about twenty years. When I was on the bay it was mostly day trips on a little boat that looked - very roughly - like this.

Sailing does take you away. As I have always been clumsy, I can remember plenty of hits/headaches from the boom. Er, um, or was that the beer...
Sailing on the bay at night is wonderful, the stars are so bright and wonderful.
